Preloved Vintage Louis Vuitton Monogram Papillon Bag, 26

This is a lovely Louis Vuitton Monogram Papillon 26. This chic handbag is crafted of the iconic Monogram Canvas in brown. It features the Vachetta leather strap handles, piping trim, and brass hardware. The top zip opens to a grained interior. 

The Papillon was first launched in 1966 and it has been popular ever since. The French word “Papillon” means butterfly and the design of the bag is supposedly inspired by a butterfly. The shape of the bag represents the body of a butterfly, while the handles represent the wings. The bag is able to sit snugly on the shoulder but is more ideal as a hand held bag.

This is a vintage bag and therefore shows signs of use but is beautiful. The canvas is in great condition. The Vachetta leather has developed a rich patina and is in great condition. Some discolouration to the zip pull and carry rings, minor scratches to the hardware. Inside is clean. Internally there is a light musty smell but this will disperse with use. 

Comes with its dustbag, and a certificate confirming authenticity.
